हापुड़। शहर के चर्चित विवाह समारोह में हुई 10 लाख रुपये से अधिक की नकदी और सोने-चांदी के आभूषणों की सनसनीखेज चोरी का मामला अब तूल पकड़ता जा रहा है। मेरठ-हापुड़ लोकसभा क्षेत्र के सांसद अरुण गोविल के प्रतिनिधि एवं वरिष्ठ भाजपा नेता अशोक बबली की पुत्री की शादी के दौरान हुई इस वारदात के 48 घंटे बीत जाने के बाद भी पुलिस आरोपितों तक नहीं पहुंच सकी है। पुलिस की धीमी कार्रवाई से नाराज व्यापारी और सामाजिक संगठनों के प्रतिनिधियों ने मंगलवार को पुलिस अधीक्षक से मुलाकात कर मामले के शीघ्र खुलासे की मांग की।

गढ़ रोड स्थित मनोहर रिजेंसी मैरिज होम में आयोजित विवाह समारोह में शनिवार रात बड़ी संख्या में मेहमान और रिश्तेदार मौजूद थे। इसी दौरान भीड़भाड़ का फायदा उठाकर शातिर चोर मैरिज होम के एक कमरे तक पहुंच गए। आरोप है कि चोरों ने कमरे की खिड़की तोड़कर अंदर प्रवेश किया और बेटी की विदाई के लिए रखा बैग लेकर फरार हो गए। परिजनों के अनुसार बैग में 10 लाख रुपये से अधिक की नकदी के अलावा सोने-चांदी के कीमती आभूषण रखे हुए थे।

घटना का पता रविवार सुबह उस समय चला, जब परिवार के सदस्य कमरे में पहुंचे। खिड़की टूटी हुई मिली और बैग गायब था। देखते ही देखते शादी की खुशियां चिंता और अफरा-तफरी में बदल गईं। सूचना पर थाना हापुड़ देहात प्रभारी पारस मलिक पुलिस टीम के साथ मौके पर पहुंचे और घटनास्थल का निरीक्षण कर जांच शुरू की।

पुलिस ने मैरिज होम और आसपास लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों की फुटेज खंगालनी शुरू की। शुरुआती जांच में आशंका जताई गई कि चोर पहले से रेकी कर रहे थे और उन्होंने शादी समारोह में लोगों की व्यस्तता का फायदा उठाकर वारदात को अंजाम दिया। हालांकि घटना के 48 घंटे बाद भी पुलिस किसी ठोस नतीजे पर नहीं पहुंच सकी है।

मामले में कार्रवाई की रफ्तार धीमी होने के आरोप लगाते हुए व्यापारियों में नाराजगी बढ़ गई। मंगलवार को व्यापारी प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने पुलिस अधीक्षक कुंवर ज्ञानंजय सिंह से मुलाकात कर घटना के शीघ्र खुलासे की मांग की। व्यापारियों ने कहा कि शहर के प्रतिष्ठित परिवार के यहां शादी समारोह में इतनी बड़ी चोरी होना सुरक्षा व्यवस्था पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े करता है। यदि जल्द आरोपितों की गिरफ्तारी नहीं हुई तो आम लोगों का पुलिस पर भरोसा प्रभावित होगा।

व्यापारियों ने एसपी से मांग की कि चोरी में शामिल गिरोह को जल्द गिरफ्तार कर नकदी और आभूषण बरामद किए जाएं। साथ ही विवाह स्थलों और बड़े आयोजनों में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को और मजबूत किया जाए ताकि भविष्य में इस तरह की घटनाओं की पुनरावृत्ति न हो।

पुलिस अधीक्षक ने प्रतिनिधिमंडल को आश्वस्त किया कि मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए कई टीमें जांच में लगी हैं। सीसीटीवी फुटेज, तकनीकी साक्ष्यों और अन्य सुरागों के आधार पर आरोपितों की तलाश की जा रही है तथा जल्द ही घटना का पर्दाफाश किया जाएगा।

Thieves Strike at MP Representative's Daughter's Wedding; Traders Meet SP as Accused Remain at Large After 48 Hours

Hapur: The sensational theft of cash and gold-silver jewellery worth over ₹10 lakh during the wedding of the daughter of senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament Arun Govil's representative, Ashok Babli, has intensified after police failed to crack the case even 48 hours after the incident. Upset over the slow progress, a delegation of local traders met the Superintendent of Police (SP) and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and recovery of the stolen valuables.

The incident took place during the wedding ceremony held at Manohar Regency Marriage Home on Garh Road. A large number of relatives and guests had gathered for the celebrations on Saturday. Taking advantage of the crowd and the family's busy schedule, unidentified thieves allegedly broke the window of a room inside the marriage hall and escaped with a bag kept there.

According to the victim's family, the bag contained more than ₹10 lakh in cash along with gold and silver jewellery, which had been kept safely for the bride's farewell (vidai). The theft came to light on Sunday morning when family members found the room's window broken and the bag missing, turning the joyous occasion into panic and distress.

On receiving information, Hapur Dehat police, led by Station House Officer Paras Malik, reached the spot and launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the marriage hall and nearby areas was collected, and police suspected that the accused had conducted prior reconnaissance before executing the theft during the wedding ceremony.

However, despite the passage of 48 hours, the accused remain untraced. Expressing concern over the delay, members of the local traders' association met the Superintendent of Police on Tuesday and urged swift action. They said such a major theft at the wedding of a prominent family had raised serious concerns about public safety and law and order.

The traders demanded the immediate arrest of those involved, recovery of the stolen cash and jewellery, and stronger security arrangements at marriage venues to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The SP assured the delegation that multiple police teams are working on the case. Investigators are examining CCTV footage, technical evidence, and other leads to identify the culprits, and officials expressed confidence that the case would be solved soon.
