हापुड़/गढ़मुक्तेश्वर। पारिवारिक विवाद से परेशान एक वृद्ध द्वारा जीवन समाप्त करने का प्रयास किए जाने का मामला सामने आया है। समय रहते स्थानीय मल्लाहों की सतर्कता और साहस के कारण उनकी जान बच गई। सूचना मिलने पर पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और वृद्ध से बातचीत करने के साथ ही उनके परिजनों को बुलाकर मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी।

जानकारी के अनुसार, अमरोहा जिले के मंडी धनौरा क्षेत्र के गांव शेरपुर निवासी सतपाल सोमवार रात गढ़मुक्तेश्वर स्थित गंगा तट पहुंचे। प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार, वह कुछ समय तक घाट पर रहे और फिर अचानक गंगा में चले गए। यह देखकर वहां मौजूद मल्लाहों ने बिना देर किए तत्काल बचाव अभियान शुरू किया।

मल्लाहों ने अपनी सूझबूझ और तत्परता का परिचय देते हुए वृद्ध को सुरक्षित बाहर निकाल लिया। घटना के बाद घाट पर लोगों की भीड़ जमा हो गई। स्थानीय लोगों ने तुरंत पुलिस को सूचना दी, जिसके बाद पुलिस टीम मौके पर पहुंची।

प्राथमिक पूछताछ में सतपाल ने पुलिस को बताया कि वह लंबे समय से पारिवारिक तनाव से गुजर रहे थे। उनका आरोप है कि घरेलू विवाद के दौरान उनके बेटे ने उनके साथ मारपीट की थी, जिससे वह मानसिक रूप से बेहद आहत हो गए। इसी तनाव के चलते उन्होंने यह कदम उठाने का प्रयास किया।

पुलिस ने वृद्ध को समझाया और उनकी सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करते हुए परिजनों को मौके पर बुलाया। अधिकारियों ने दोनों पक्षों से बातचीत कर विवाद का शांतिपूर्ण समाधान निकालने का प्रयास शुरू किया है।

क्षेत्राधिकारी (सीओ) राहुल यादव ने बताया कि सूचना मिलने पर पुलिस ने तत्काल कार्रवाई की। वृद्ध के परिजनों को बुलाया गया है और पूरे मामले की जांच की जा रही है। पुलिस का प्रयास है कि पारिवारिक विवाद को आपसी संवाद के माध्यम से सुलझाया जाए, ताकि भविष्य में ऐसी स्थिति दोबारा उत्पन्न न हो।

Elderly Man Rescued After Attempting to End His Life Amid Family Dispute; Quick Action by Boatmen Saves Him

Hapur/Garhmukteshwar: An elderly man from Amroha was rescued after allegedly attempting to end his life following a family dispute. Thanks to the prompt response of local boatmen, he was safely brought back, and police have initiated further proceedings while counselling the family.

According to officials, Satpal, a resident of Sherpur village in the Mandi Dhanaura area of Amroha district, arrived at the Ganga riverfront in Garhmukteshwar on Monday night. Eyewitnesses said he suddenly entered the river, prompting nearby boatmen to immediately launch a rescue effort.

The rescuers acted swiftly and managed to bring him to safety. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and began questioning the elderly man about the circumstances leading to the incident.

During preliminary inquiry, Satpal reportedly told police that he had been under severe emotional stress due to an ongoing family dispute. He alleged that he had recently been assaulted by his son during a domestic altercation, leaving him deeply distressed.

Police later contacted his family members and initiated efforts to resolve the dispute through discussion and counselling. Authorities said they are examining all aspects of the incident and will take further action as required.

Circle Officer Rahul Yadav said that the elderly man's family has been called to the police station and efforts are being made to resolve the conflict peacefully to prevent such incidents in the future.
