गढ़मुक्तेश्वर (हापुड़)। तीर्थ नगरी ब्रजघाट पर शनिवार को उस समय अफरा-तफरी मच गई, जब एक महिला गृह क्लेश से परेशान होकर गंगा में कूदकर आत्महत्या करने पहुंच गई। जैसे ही महिला ने गंगा में छलांग लगाने का प्रयास किया, वहां मौजूद स्थानीय लोगों की नजर उस पर पड़ गई। लोगों ने तत्काल सतर्कता दिखाते हुए महिला को पकड़ लिया और सुरक्षित बाहर ले आए। समय रहते लोगों की सूझबूझ से एक बड़ा हादसा टल गया।

प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार महिला काफी परेशान और मानसिक तनाव में दिखाई दे रही थी। वह सीधे गंगा घाट की ओर पहुंची और नदी में कूदने का प्रयास किया। महिला की गतिविधियां संदिग्ध लगने पर आसपास मौजूद लोगों ने तुरंत उसे रोक लिया। इसके बाद घाट पर कुछ देर के लिए लोगों की भीड़ जमा हो गई।

सूचना मिलने पर गढ़ कोतवाली पुलिस भी मौके पर पहुंच गई। पुलिस ने महिला को अपने संरक्षण में लेकर उससे बातचीत की और घटना की जानकारी जुटाई। प्रारंभिक पूछताछ में सामने आया कि महिला घरेलू विवाद और गृह क्लेश से परेशान थी, जिसके चलते उसने यह कदम उठाने का प्रयास किया।

पुलिस ने महिला को समझाकर शांत कराया और उसके परिजनों को सूचना देकर मौके पर बुलाया। पुलिस का कहना है कि महिला को सुरक्षित उसके परिजनों के सुपुर्द कर दिया गया है। साथ ही परिवार को आपसी विवाद बातचीत के माध्यम से सुलझाने की सलाह दी गई है। स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि यदि समय रहते महिला को नहीं रोका जाता तो कोई बड़ा हादसा हो सकता था।

Woman Attempting Suicide by Jumping into Ganga Rescued by Locals in Hapur

Hapur: A major tragedy was averted in the holy town of Brajghat under Garhmukteshwar police station limits on Saturday after a woman, allegedly distressed due to domestic issues, attempted to end her life by jumping into the River Ganga.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman arrived at the ghat in a visibly disturbed state and moved towards the river with the intention of taking the extreme step. Alert locals noticed her actions and immediately intervened, preventing her from jumping into the river. Their timely response saved her life.

The incident created a brief commotion at the ghat as people gathered at the spot. After receiving information, Garhmukteshwar police reached the scene and took the woman into their care.

During preliminary questioning, the woman reportedly told police that she was under severe emotional stress due to ongoing family disputes, which drove her to attempt suicide.

The police counselled the woman and informed her family members, who later arrived at the spot. After ensuring her safety and providing necessary guidance, the woman was handed over to her relatives. Police also advised the family to resolve their domestic issues through dialogue and mutual understanding.

Local residents said that had the woman not been stopped in time, the incident could have resulted in a tragic loss of life. The prompt action of the bystanders played a crucial role in saving her.
