हापुड़। आधुनिक तकनीक के जरिए अपराधियों की पहचान और अपराध नियंत्रण के क्षेत्र में मेरठ परिक्षेत्र की पुलिस ने एक बार फिर प्रदेश में अपनी कार्यकुशलता का लोहा मनवाया है। नेशनल ऑटोमेटेड फिंगरप्रिंट आइडेंटिफिकेशन सिस्टम (NAFIS) की प्रदेश स्तरीय रैंकिंग में मेरठ रेंज के चारों जिले मेरठ, बुलंदशहर, बागपत और हापुड़ ने माह मई 2026 की फीडिंग के आधार पर प्रदेश में प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया है। खास बात यह है कि मार्च 2026 से लगातार तीसरी बार मेरठ रेंज ने यह उपलब्धि हासिल कर अपनी उत्कृष्ट कार्यप्रणाली को साबित किया है।

पुलिस विभाग के अनुसार NAFIS प्रणाली के माध्यम से अपराधियों के अंगुली चिन्हों का डिजिटल रिकॉर्ड तैयार किया जाता है। इससे किसी भी अपराधी की पहचान कुछ ही समय में संभव हो जाती है और पुराने तथा नए मामलों के बीच तकनीकी आधार पर कड़ी जोड़ने में मदद मिलती है। यह व्यवस्था अपराधों के त्वरित खुलासे, वांछित अपराधियों की गिरफ्तारी और वैज्ञानिक जांच प्रणाली को मजबूत बनाने में बेहद कारगर साबित हो रही है।

मई 2026 के दौरान मेरठ रेंज के चारों जिलों ने NAFIS पोर्टल पर अपराधियों के फिंगरप्रिंट शत-प्रतिशत दर्ज किए। मेरठ जनपद में 533, बुलंदशहर में 506, बागपत में 215 तथा हापुड़ में 212 अपराधियों के फिंगरप्रिंट सफलतापूर्वक अपलोड किए गए। इस प्रकार कुल 1466 अपराधियों का डाटा NAFIS प्रणाली में दर्ज किया गया। सभी जिलों ने 100 प्रतिशत फीडिंग कर प्रदेश में पहला स्थान हासिल किया।

डीआईजी का कहना है कि NAFIS जैसी आधुनिक प्रणाली अपराधियों की पहचान को अधिक सटीक और तेज बनाती है। यदि कोई अपराधी किसी अन्य जिले या राज्य में अपराध करता है तो उसके फिंगरप्रिंट के आधार पर उसकी पहचान तुरंत संभव हो जाती है। इससे अंतरजनपदीय और अंतरराज्यीय अपराधों के खुलासे में भी पुलिस को बड़ी सफलता मिल रही है।

मेरठ परिक्षेत्र कार्यालय द्वारा सभी जिलों की NAFIS फीडिंग की नियमित समीक्षा की जाती है। अधिकारियों को समय-समय पर आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश दिए जाते हैं, जिससे फीडिंग कार्य में किसी प्रकार की लापरवाही न हो। इसी सतत मॉनिटरिंग और प्रभावी कार्यशैली का परिणाम है कि मेरठ रेंज लगातार तीसरी बार प्रदेश की शीर्ष रैंकिंग पर कायम है।

इस उपलब्धि पर पुलिस उप महानिरीक्षक मेरठ परिक्षेत्र कलानिधि नैथानी ने सभी पुलिस अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि आधुनिक तकनीक का प्रभावी उपयोग ही वर्तमान समय में स्मार्ट पुलिसिंग की सबसे बड़ी पहचान है। उन्होंने कहा कि NAFIS केवल एक डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म नहीं, बल्कि अपराध नियंत्रण की दिशा में पुलिस के लिए एक अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण तकनीकी हथियार है। इसकी सहायता से अपराधियों की पहचान पहले की तुलना में कहीं अधिक तेज, सटीक और वैज्ञानिक तरीके से की जा रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि मेरठ रेंज के सभी जनपदों ने जिस समर्पण, अनुशासन और टीमवर्क के साथ लगातार तीसरी बार प्रदेश में प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया है, वह पूरे पुलिस बल के लिए गर्व का विषय है।

यह उपलब्धि दर्शाती है कि पुलिसकर्मी तकनीक आधारित जांच प्रणाली को पूरी गंभीरता से अपनाकर कार्य कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने सभी अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों से अपेक्षा की कि भविष्य में भी इसी प्रकार शत-प्रतिशत गुणवत्ता के साथ कार्य करते हुए अपराधियों का डाटा समयबद्ध तरीके से NAFIS पर अपलोड करें, ताकि अपराध नियंत्रण, वैज्ञानिक विवेचना और कानून-व्यवस्था को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाया जा सके। साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि मेरठ रेंज आगे भी तकनीक आधारित पुलिसिंग के क्षेत्र में प्रदेश के लिए एक मॉडल के रूप में अपनी पहचान बनाए रखेगी।

Meerut Range Tops Uttar Pradesh in NAFIS Ranking for Third Consecutive Month; Hapur Among Four Districts Securing First Place

Hapur: The Meerut Range Police has once again demonstrated its excellence in technology-driven policing by securing the first position in Uttar Pradesh in the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS) rankings. Based on data uploaded for May 2026, all four districts of the range Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat, and Hapur achieved 100% fingerprint data feeding, helping the range retain the top state ranking for the third consecutive month, following similar achievements since March 2026.

NAFIS, launched nationwide on July 1, 2022, is an advanced digital platform designed to collect, store, and analyze criminals' fingerprints. The system enables law enforcement agencies to identify offenders quickly, improve criminal investigations, and enhance inter-state and inter-district coordination in solving crimes.

According to official figures, Meerut uploaded fingerprint records of 533 offenders, Bulandshahr recorded 506, Baghpat uploaded 215, and Hapur entered 212 offenders into the NAFIS database during May 2026. In total, 1,466 criminals' fingerprints were successfully uploaded, with all four districts achieving 100% data feeding, earning the highest ranking across Uttar Pradesh.

Police officials stated that the increasing use of NAFIS has significantly strengthened scientific investigation and digital policing. The centralized fingerprint database enables officers to identify habitual offenders within minutes, even if they commit crimes in different districts or states, leading to quicker detection of cases and faster arrests.

The Meerut Range headquarters regularly reviews the NAFIS performance of all districts and issues necessary guidelines to ensure timely and accurate data uploads. Officials credited continuous monitoring, disciplined implementation, and teamwork for the range's consistent top performance.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Meerut Range, Kalanidhi Naithani, congratulated all police officers and personnel for the remarkable achievement. He said that modern technology has become an indispensable pillar of effective policing and that NAFIS is playing a crucial role in strengthening crime detection and investigation. He noted that securing the No. 1 position in Uttar Pradesh for the third consecutive month reflects the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of the police force toward technology-based policing.

The DIG further emphasized that timely and accurate uploading of fingerprint records not only improves the quality of investigations but also helps in tracking repeat offenders across jurisdictions. He urged all district police units to maintain the same level of efficiency and continue leveraging modern technology to enhance public safety, strengthen law enforcement, and make policing more transparent, scientific, and effective.
