हापुड़। पिछले 24 घंटे से लगातार हो रही मूसलाधार बारिश ने शहर की व्यवस्था की हकीकत उजागर कर दी। नगर पालिका के जल निकासी और नालों की सफाई के तमाम दावे बारिश के सामने धराशायी नजर आए। शहर के कई प्रमुख बाजारों और सड़कों पर कई फीट तक जलभराव हो गया, जिससे व्यापार पूरी तरह प्रभावित रहा और लोगों को भारी परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ा।

बृहस्पतिवार को हुई तेज बारिश के बाद शहर की गोल मार्केट का नजारा किसी तालाब से कम नहीं था। सड़क पर इतना पानी भर गया कि स्कूटी और बाइक पानी में तैरती हुई दिखाई दीं। कई दोपहिया वाहन बीच रास्ते में बंद हो गए, जिन्हें लोगों को धक्का लगाकर बाहर निकालना पड़ा। बाजार में खरीदारी करने आए लोग घंटों तक फंसे रहे और दुकानदार भी ग्राहकों के इंतजार में बैठे रहे।

जलभराव के कारण बुजुर्गों, महिलाओं, स्कूली छात्र-छात्राओं और छोटे बच्चों को सबसे अधिक दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा। लोग गंदे पानी के बीच गिरते-पड़ते अपने गंतव्य तक पहुंचे। कई स्थानों पर राहगीरों का संतुलन बिगड़ने से हादसे होते-होते बचे। व्यापारियों का कहना है कि हर साल बारिश में यही स्थिति बनती है, लेकिन स्थायी समाधान की दिशा में कोई ठोस कदम नहीं उठाया जाता।

बारिश के कारण नालों का गंदा पानी भी सड़कों पर फैल गया। लोगों को उसी पानी से होकर गुजरना पड़ा, जिससे संक्रामक बीमारियों का खतरा भी बढ़ गया है। स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि यदि समय रहते नालों की प्रभावी सफाई और जल निकासी की व्यवस्था की गई होती तो शहर को इस स्थिति का सामना नहीं करना पड़ता।

लगातार हो रही बारिश से शहर के कई अन्य इलाकों में भी जलभराव की शिकायतें सामने आई हैं। लोगों ने नगर पालिका प्रशासन से तत्काल जल निकासी कराकर राहत दिलाने और भविष्य में ऐसी स्थिति से बचने के लिए स्थायी व्यवस्था करने की मांग की है।

Hapur: Continuous rainfall over the past 24 hours has turned into a major ordeal for residents of Hapur, exposing the failure of the Municipal Council's drainage management despite repeated claims of preparedness. Several parts of the city witnessed severe waterlogging, disrupting normal life and causing immense inconvenience to traders, commuters, and local residents.

The worst-hit area was Gol Market, where heavy rain transformed roads into virtual ponds. Water accumulated to such an extent that scooters and motorcycles were seen floating in the flooded streets. Several two-wheelers broke down in the middle of the road, forcing owners to push them through the water.

The waterlogging severely affected business activities as customers struggled to reach the market, leading to a sharp decline in footfall. Shopkeepers expressed frustration, saying that every monsoon brings the same situation despite repeated assurances from the civic authorities.

Elderly people, women, school-going students, and children faced the greatest difficulties while navigating through the flooded streets. Many pedestrians were seen slipping and struggling to cross the waterlogged roads, while several minor mishaps were narrowly avoided.

Adding to the misery, filthy drain water overflowed onto the roads, forcing people to walk through contaminated water. Residents expressed concern that the unhygienic conditions could lead to the spread of waterborne and mosquito-borne diseases, including dengue and malaria.

Locals alleged that if drains had been properly cleaned and an effective drainage system had been put in place before the monsoon, the city would not have faced such a crisis. They urged the Municipal Council to immediately pump out the accumulated water and implement a permanent solution to prevent recurring waterlogging during heavy rains.

The relentless downpour has once again highlighted the urgent need for improved urban drainage infrastructure and better monsoon preparedness in Hapur.
