हापुड़। सिंभावली विकासखंड के माधापुर गांव की 85 वर्षीय बुजुर्ग महिला रूपवती पिछले एक वर्ष से अपनी वृद्धावस्था पेंशन दोबारा शुरू कराने के लिए सरकारी कार्यालयों के चक्कर लगा रही हैं। उनका आरोप है कि सत्यापन के दौरान हुई एक त्रुटि के कारण उन्हें रिकॉर्ड में मृत दर्शा दिया गया, जिसके बाद उनकी पेंशन बंद कर दी गई।

रूपवती के अनुसार वर्ष 2025 तक उन्हें नियमित रूप से वृद्धावस्था पेंशन मिल रही थी। हालांकि, फरवरी 2025 में तैयार की गई सत्यापन रिपोर्ट में उन्हें मृत घोषित कर दिया गया, जिसके चलते पेंशन का भुगतान रोक दिया गया।

बुजुर्ग महिला का कहना है कि उन्होंने कई बार संबंधित अधिकारियों के समक्ष स्वयं उपस्थित होकर अपने जीवित होने के प्रमाण भी दिए, लेकिन अब तक सरकारी रिकॉर्ड में आवश्यक संशोधन नहीं किया गया। उनका कहना है कि लगातार प्रयासों के बावजूद समस्या का समाधान नहीं हो पाया है।

रविवार को भारतीय किसान यूनियन (अराजनैतिक) के जिलाध्यक्ष पवन हूण गांव पहुंचे, जहां ग्रामीणों की समस्याएं सुनने के दौरान रूपवती ने भी अपनी परेशानी उनके सामने रखी। संगठन ने मामले की निष्पक्ष जांच कर दोषी अधिकारी के खिलाफ कार्रवाई और बंद पेंशन को जल्द बहाल करने की मांग की है।

इस संबंध में एसडीएम ईला प्रकाश ने कहा कि किसी जीवित व्यक्ति को सरकारी रिकॉर्ड में मृत दर्ज किया जाना गंभीर लापरवाही है। उन्होंने बताया कि मामले की जांच कराकर संबंधित विभाग को आवश्यक कार्रवाई और पात्र महिला को राहत दिलाने के निर्देश दिए जाएंगे।

85-Year-Old Woman Declared Dead on Records, Pension Stopped Despite Being Alive

Hapur: An 85-year-old woman from Madhapur village in Simbhawali block has been struggling for nearly a year to restore her old-age pension after she was allegedly marked as deceased during an official verification process.

According to Rupvati, she had been receiving her pension regularly until early 2025. However, following a verification report prepared in February 2025, she was incorrectly recorded as dead, leading to the suspension of her pension benefits.

The elderly woman says she has repeatedly visited government offices and submitted proof that she is alive, but the official records have yet to be corrected. As a result, her pension remains suspended despite her continued efforts.

On Sunday, representatives of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Apolitical), including district president Pawan Hoon, visited the village to hear public grievances. After learning about the case, the organization demanded an impartial inquiry, action against the responsible official, and immediate restoration of the woman's pension.

Responding to the issue, SDM Ila Prakash stated that recording a living beneficiary as deceased is a serious administrative lapse. She said the matter would be investigated and appropriate instructions would be issued to the concerned department to provide relief to the affected beneficiary.
