गढ़मुक्तेश्वर। गंगा नदी का जलस्तर लगातार बढ़ने से खादर क्षेत्र के किसानों की चिंता बढ़ती जा रही है। रविवार दोपहर तक जलस्तर चेतावनी स्तर के बेहद करीब पहुंच गया, जिससे निचले इलाकों में रहने वाले लोगों और किसानों की निगाहें प्रशासन की तैयारियों पर टिकी हैं।

उपलब्ध आंकड़ों के अनुसार, शनिवार की तुलना में रविवार तक गंगा के जलस्तर में लगभग 17 सेंटीमीटर की बढ़ोतरी दर्ज की गई। दोपहर तक जलस्तर 197.52 मीटर मापा गया, जो चेतावनी स्तर से केवल 81 सेंटीमीटर कम है।

खादर क्षेत्र के किसानों का कहना है कि यदि जलस्तर इसी गति से बढ़ता रहा तो गंगा किनारे स्थित हजारों बीघा कृषि भूमि जलभराव की चपेट में आ सकती है। इससे खरीफ फसलों को भारी नुकसान होने की आशंका है और किसानों की महीनों की मेहनत प्रभावित हो सकती है।

प्रशासन का कहना है कि गंगा के बढ़ते जलस्तर पर लगातार नजर रखी जा रही है। अधिकारियों के अनुसार संभावित बाढ़ की स्थिति से निपटने के लिए आवश्यक तैयारियां की जा रही हैं और जरूरत पड़ने पर बाढ़ चौकियां भी सक्रिय कर दी जाएंगी।

Rising Ganga Water Level Raises Concern as River Nears Warning Mark

Garhmukteshwar: The steadily rising water level of the Ganga River has increased anxiety among farmers living in the Khadar region. By Sunday afternoon, the river had reached close to the official warning level, prompting authorities to closely monitor the situation.

According to the latest available data, the river's water level increased by around 17 centimeters compared to Saturday, reaching 197.52 meters on Sunday afternoon. This places the river just 81 centimeters below the designated warning mark.

Farmers in the floodplain fear that if the water level continues to rise over the coming days, thousands of bighas of standing crops along the riverbank could be submerged, resulting in significant agricultural losses.

Local authorities said they are keeping a continuous watch on the river's level and are making necessary preparations to deal with any flood-related situation. Officials added that flood monitoring posts will be activated as required under the guidance of higher authorities.
