हापुड़। बक्सर नहर पुल के निकट मंगलवार सुबह एक 65 वर्षीय वृद्ध का शव मिलने से इलाके में हड़कंप मच गया। राहगीरों ने नहर किनारे शव पड़े होने की सूचना पुलिस को दी, जिसके बाद थाना पुलिस और फॉरेंसिक टीम मौके पर पहुंची। पुलिस ने शव को कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया है और मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी है।

पुलिस की जांच में मृतक की पहचान बहादुरगढ़ थाना क्षेत्र के खेड़ा गांव निवासी तेनवीर सिंह उर्फ टेनी (65) पुत्र काले सिंह के रूप में हुई। प्रारंभिक पड़ताल में सामने आया कि सोमवार शाम वृद्ध को नहर किनारे एक पेड़ के नीचे बैठे हुए देखा गया था। मंगलवार सुबह उसी स्थान पर उनका शव मिलने से क्षेत्र में चर्चा का माहौल बन गया।

मौके से पुलिस को मृतक का एक बैग भी मिला, जिसमें कपड़े और जूते रखे हुए थे। सूचना मिलने पर पहुंचे भतीजे रोहित ने बताया कि तेनवीर सिंह अविवाहित थे और पिछले कुछ दिनों से नजीबाबाद में रह रहे थे। वह वहां से कब और किस उद्देश्य से यहां पहुंचे, इसकी भी पुलिस जानकारी जुटा रही है।

थाना प्रभारी निरीक्षक सुरेश कुमार ने बताया कि प्रथम दृष्टया किसी बाहरी चोट के निशान नहीं मिले हैं। शुरुआती आशंका हृदयगति रुकने से मौत होने की है, लेकिन वास्तविक कारण पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट आने के बाद ही स्पष्ट हो सकेगा। पुलिस सभी पहलुओं को ध्यान में रखते हुए मामले की जांच कर रही है।

Hapur: Panic spread in the area after the body of a 65-year-old man was found near the Buxar Canal Bridge on Tuesday morning. After receiving information, Station House Officer Suresh Kumar, Outpost In-charge Alok Singh, and a forensic team reached the spot and began an investigation. The body was taken into police custody and sent for a post-mortem examination.

The deceased was identified as Tanveer Singh alias Teni, son of Kale Singh, a resident of Khera village under Bahadurgarh police station limits. According to preliminary information, he was seen sitting under a tree along the canal on Monday evening. His body was discovered at the same location the following morning.

Police also recovered a bag containing clothes and a pair of shoes from the scene. The deceased's nephew, Rohit, said that Tanveer Singh was unmarried and had been staying in Najibabad for the past several days. Police are also trying to determine when and why he had come to the area.

SHO Suresh Kumar said that the body has been sent for a post-mortem. At first glance, the death appears to have been caused by a cardiac arrest, although the exact cause will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received. The investigation is continuing.
