हापुड़। जनपद में पिछले कई दिनों से अलग-अलग गांवों और आबादी वाले क्षेत्रों में तेंदुआ दिखाई देने तथा उसके पैरों के निशान मिलने की चर्चाओं के बीच रविवार रात शहर की प्रीत विहार पॉश कॉलोनी से सामने आई इस घटना ने लोगों की चिंता और बढ़ा दी है। कॉलोनी में लगे कमल सिंह के मकान के सीसीटीवी कैमरे में रात करीब 10:05 बजे एक तेंदुआ जैसा वन्यजीव कैद हुआ, जिसके बाद पूरे इलाके में दहशत फैल गई। सूचना मिलने पर वन विभाग को मामले की जानकारी दी गई है। हालांकि विभाग की ओर से अभी तक आधिकारिक रूप से यह पुष्टि नहीं की गई है कि कैमरे में कैद हुआ जानवर तेंदुआ ही है।

बताया गया कि रविवार रात प्रीत विहार कॉलोनी निवासी कमल सिंह अपने परिवार के साथ घर में भोजन कर रहे थे। इसी दौरान घर में लगी सीसीटीवी स्क्रीन पर एक बड़ा जंगली जानवर दिखाई दिया। पहले तो परिवार को अपनी आंखों पर विश्वास नहीं हुआ, लेकिन जब फुटेज को ध्यान से देखा गया तो जानवर तेंदुए जैसा नजर आया।

इसके बाद परिवार के लोगों ने आसपास के लोगों को जानकारी दी और वन विभाग को सूचना दी गई।

सूचना मिलते ही कॉलोनी में यह खबर तेजी से फैल गई। लोगों ने एहतियात के तौर पर अपने-अपने घरों के दरवाजे बंद कर लिए और बच्चों को घरों से बाहर नहीं निकलने दिया। देर रात तक कॉलोनी में लोगों के बीच भय और चिंता का माहौल बना रहा।

कमल सिंह का कहना है कि कॉलोनी में लंबे समय से झाड़ियां और खाली पड़े भूखंडों में घनी वनस्पति उगी हुई है। यहां अक्सर सांप और अन्य जहरीले जीव निकलते रहते हैं। इस संबंध में कई बार एचपीडीए से शिकायत भी की गई, लेकिन आज तक झाड़ियों की सफाई नहीं कराई गई। उनका आरोप है कि अब तेंदुए जैसी घटना सामने आने के बावजूद संबंधित अधिकारियों ने कोई गंभीरता नहीं दिखाई है।

उधर, पिछले कुछ दिनों से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में भी तेंदुए के देखे जाने और उसके पैरों के निशान मिलने की सूचनाएं लगातार सामने आ रही हैं। वन विभाग विभिन्न स्थानों पर निगरानी कर रहा है और संभावित क्षेत्रों में जाल भी लगाया गया है, लेकिन अभी तक किसी तेंदुए के पकड़े जाने या उसकी आधिकारिक पुष्टि नहीं हो सकी है।

वन विभाग ने लोगों से अपील की है कि यदि कहीं कोई संदिग्ध वन्यजीव दिखाई दे तो उसके पास जाने का प्रयास न करें, बल्कि तुरंत विभाग और पुलिस को सूचना दें।

Leopard Captured on CCTV in Hapur's Posh Colony, Panic Grips Residents

Hapur, Uttar Pradesh: Panic spread across Hapur's Prit Vihar Colony on Sunday night after a leopard-like wild animal was captured on a residential CCTV camera, intensifying fears that have been growing in the district over repeated reports of leopard sightings.

According to residents, the incident occurred at around 10:05 p.m. when the animal was seen walking beside a house in the colony. The footage was later reviewed by local residents, who claimed the animal appeared to be a leopard. The Forest Department was immediately informed and has begun examining the CCTV footage. However, officials have not yet officially confirmed whether the animal captured on camera is indeed a leopard.

Resident Kamal Singh said his family was having dinner when they noticed a large wild animal on the CCTV monitor installed at their home. "At first, we couldn't believe what we were seeing. But after carefully reviewing the footage, it clearly looked like a leopard walking right beside our house," he said.

As news of the sighting spread, fear quickly gripped the entire neighborhood. Residents shut their doors, kept children indoors, and remained on high alert throughout the night.

Kamal Singh also alleged that the colony has been facing problems due to overgrown bushes and vacant plots for a long time. He claimed snakes and other reptiles are frequently spotted in the area and that several complaints have already been submitted to the Hapur-Pilkhuwa Development Authority (HPDA), but no action has been taken.

"We have repeatedly requested the authorities to clear the overgrown vegetation. Even after informing them about the suspected leopard sighting, no officials have visited the area," he alleged.

For the past several days, reports of leopard sightings and paw prints have been emerging from different villages and localities across Hapur district. The Forest Department has deployed teams and set up traps in suspected areas, but no leopard has been officially traced or captured so far.

Forest officials have urged residents to remain cautious, avoid approaching any suspected wild animal, and immediately inform the Forest Department or police if such an animal is spotted. Authorities are currently examining the CCTV footage, and an official confirmation regarding the identity of the animal is awaited.
