जैश-ए-मुहम्मद से कथित कनेक्शन, मौलाना जफर गिरफ्तार

हापुड़। स्वतंत्रता दिवस से एक दिन पहले बहादुरगढ़ क्षेत्र के गांव शेरपुर में आतंकवाद निरोधक दस्ता (ATS) की कार्रवाई को लेकर अब बड़ा खुलासा हुआ है। दो दिन पहले गांव में दो संदिग्ध युवकों को हिरासत में लिए जाने की सूचना सामने आई थी, लेकिन उस समय सुरक्षा एजेंसियों की ओर से उनकी पहचान और कार्रवाई के पीछे की वजह को लेकर स्थिति स्पष्ट नहीं थी। अब एजेंसी से जुड़ी जानकारी के अनुसार बिहार निवासी मौलाना मोहम्मद जफर को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। जांच एजेंसियों का आरोप है कि जफर हापुड़ के एक मदरसे में रहकर चंदा एकत्र करता था और उसकी रकम पाकिस्तानी आतंकी संगठन जैश-ए-मुहम्मद तक पहुंचाता था।

एजेंसियों के अनुसार जफर की गतिविधियां काफी समय से निगरानी में थीं। बताया जा रहा है कि उसके संपर्कों और गतिविधियों की जानकारी जुटाने के बाद एटीएस ने शेरपुर में कार्रवाई की। कार्रवाई के दौरान दो युवकों को हिरासत में लिए जाने की बात सामने आई थी। इसके बाद स्थानीय पुलिस और खुफिया एजेंसियों ने भी मामले से जुड़े तथ्यों की पड़ताल शुरू कर दी।

जांच में सामने आए तथ्यों के मुताबिक जफर मूल रूप से बिहार का रहने वाला है और उसने मेरठ के एक मदरसे से शिक्षा प्राप्त की थी। बाद में वह हापुड़ के एक मदरसे में रहने लगा। एजेंसी का दावा है कि वह मदरसे के नाम पर चंदा एकत्र करता था और उस धनराशि का इस्तेमाल कथित तौर पर जैश-ए-मुहम्मद तक रकम पहुंचाने में करता था। इस संबंध में धन के लेन-देन से जुड़े तथ्यों की जांच किए जाने की बात सामने आई है।

जांच एजेंसियों को जफर के मोबाइल फोन से कई व्हाट्सएप ग्रुप मिलने की जानकारी सामने आई है। एजेंसी के अनुसार इन ग्रुपों में पाकिस्तानी जिहादी संगठनों से जुड़े लोगों की मौजूदगी की जांच की जा रही है। यह भी आरोप है कि जफर पाकिस्तानी हैंडलर के संपर्क में आया था और उसने कथित तौर पर जिहाद के लिए मदद करने की पेशकश की थी।

एजेंसियां अब मोबाइल फोन में मिले संपर्कों, व्हाट्सएप ग्रुप, चैट और कथित आर्थिक लेन-देन की कड़ियां जोड़ने में जुटी हैं। यह भी पता लगाया जा रहा है कि जफर के संपर्क में हापुड़ और आसपास के क्षेत्रों के कौन-कौन लोग थे तथा उसकी गतिविधियों का दायरा कितना था।

एजेंसी से जुड़ी जानकारी में यह आरोप भी सामने आया है कि जफर मदरसे में आने वाले लोगों को जैश-ए-मुहम्मद के प्रमुख मसूद अजहर से जुड़े साहित्य को पढ़ने के लिए प्रेरित करता था। जांच एजेंसियां इस पहलू की भी पड़ताल कर रही हैं कि कथित तौर पर ऐसा साहित्य किन लोगों तक पहुंचाया गया और इसके पीछे उसकी भूमिका क्या थी।

शेरपुर में कार्रवाई के दौरान जिस मोटरसाइकिल से संदिग्धों के पहुंचने की जानकारी सामने आई थी, वह भी जांच का हिस्सा बन गई है। बाइक हीरो होंडा सीबीजेड बताई गई है, जबकि उसकी नंबर प्लेट के संबंध में कथित विसंगति सामने आई है। एजेंसियां बाइक के वास्तविक मालिक, नंबर प्लेट के पंजीकरण और उसके इस्तेमाल से जुड़े तथ्यों की जांच कर रही हैं।

स्वतंत्रता दिवस से ठीक पहले हुई इस कार्रवाई ने सुरक्षा एजेंसियों को भी सक्रिय कर दिया है। हालांकि पूरे मामले में जांच अभी जारी है और एजेंसियां संदिग्ध के कथित आतंकी संपर्क, आर्थिक लेन-देन तथा स्थानीय नेटवर्क से जुड़े पहलुओं की छानबीन कर रही हैं। मामले की तस्वीर जांच पूरी होने और आधिकारिक स्तर पर विस्तृत जानकारी सामने आने के बाद ही पूरी तरह स्पष्ट होगी।

Hapur ATS Action: Bihar cleric Mohammad Zafar arrested over alleged Jaish-e-Mohammed funding links

Hapur: A major development has emerged from Hapur following an Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) operation in Sherpur village under Bahadurgarh police station. Two days after reports surfaced about the detention of two suspects ahead of Independence Day, the identity of one of the suspects has reportedly come to light. According to information linked to the investigation, Bihar-based cleric Mohammad Zafar has been arrested by the UP ATS.

Investigating agencies are reportedly examining allegations that Zafar had been staying at a madrasa in Hapur and collecting donations in the name of the institution. The agency's allegation is that some of the money was subsequently sent to Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The operation was carried out shortly before Independence Day. According to earlier information, ATS personnel had been monitoring the movements of two motorcycle-borne suspects. The team followed them to Sherpur, where both were detained. At the time, the identities of the suspects and the exact reason for the operation were not officially clear.

According to information emerging from the investigation, Zafar had allegedly come into contact with a Pakistani handler. Investigators are examining whether he had offered assistance to the handler for activities linked to the extremist network.

The agency is also reportedly examining financial transactions allegedly connected with the terror organisation. The exact extent of the financial network and the people involved are still being investigated.

Investigators are reportedly examining several WhatsApp groups found on Zafar's mobile phone. According to the agency's claims, some of these groups were linked to Pakistani jihadist organisations.

The contents of the phone, contact numbers, digital conversations and financial transactions are being examined to determine the nature and extent of the alleged network.

The investigation is also reportedly examining allegations that Zafar encouraged people visiting the madrasa to read literature associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar. Agencies are trying to determine whether such material was actually circulated and, if so, to whom.

Zafar is reportedly originally from Bihar and is said to have received his religious education at a madrasa in Meerut before staying at a madrasa in Hapur.

The motorcycle used by the suspects has also become part of the investigation. The vehicle is reportedly a Hero Honda CBZ, while investigators have found an alleged discrepancy involving its registration number plate. Authorities are examining the actual ownership of the motorcycle and the circumstances in which it was being used.

The investigation is currently underway. Security agencies are examining Zafar's alleged contacts, digital communications, financial transactions and possible links with people in the region. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
